Friday night: Late at night, perhaps 3:00am : hearing the sound of deep raspy wheezing, right beside my ear – there is surely a raccoon, hovering inches from my head, assessing if my tent is worth ripping apart (“I swear I put my bananas in the car trunk; leave me be, mister raccoon!”). Letting it go, trying to sleep anyway….
Saturday night, same hour: Exact same sound. What? Oh my gosh; it’s not a raccoon, inches away; it’s one of my tent-neighbors, 30 or 40 feet away. Now THAT is some loud snoring!
